Joseph Mercy Cancer Center are 8 AM – 12 PM and 1 PM – 5 PM Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The office is open from 9 AM – 12 PM and
1 PM – 5 PM on Wednesday. Telephone calls are answered between 8:30 A.M.
and noon and between 1:00 P.M. and 4:30 P.M. Our secretaries will answer
the phones as quickly as possible. During busy times in the office, however,
you may reach our voice mail system. If this occurs, you will hear a greeting
that gives you the following options:
If
you leave a message, please clearly state and
spell the patient’s name, a
telephone number where you can be reached throughout the day, and
the name of your AAHOA physician.
If you want to make an appointment, you may let us know which days
and times are convenient. For prescription refills please follow the directions provided
in the message. Please see
the instructions on page 7 for “Diagnostic Tests” if you need information
on test results. Telephone
calls are triaged according to urgency.
We will respond to urgent calls regarding medical emergencies as
soon as possible. Non-urgent
calls for appointments, prescription refills, etc. will be returned within
24 hours (one business day).
You
may contact us by fax to schedule appointments or to request prescription
refills, disability letters, records, etc. The fax number is (734)
712-1012. All faxes should include the patient’s name, AAHOA
physician, home or work telephone number, and the reason for the
request. Requests for release
of records must include the patient’s signature.
Since technical problems
may occur when sending or receiving faxes, please contact us if
you have not had a reply within 48 hours.
The
office is closed on weekends and on all major holidays.
When the office is closed, your call will be forwarded to our answering
service. If your call is urgent, the answering service will contact the
physician on call. Routine calls such as appointment cancellations should
be made during regular office hours.
You
may also contact us through our Web site (www.annarborhem-onc.com) to
schedule appointments, request disability forms, request refills for non-narcotic
prescription drugs, obtain results of routine blood tests (such as prothrombin
times/INRs) or ask general questions about office hours, etc.
In order to use the Web site, you must register and obtain a personal
